Sustainability

Embedded my desire to be a sustainable brand where possible, the feathers I uses are from natural shred or b- products from alternative industries. I am aware that this is not always going to be possible,

I will endeavour to do this as much as possible. I will be using as little as possible plastics in my designs; I am choosing not to use plastic fabrics and products.

The one plastic base I have not been able to find an alternative for is, the wide headbands used in my padded headband creations, I tried creating my own headbands from pulped cardboard with wire edges, but the time involved would price me out of the market. I will keep the investigation going watch this space.

Royal Ascot

I don't know a London Milliner or any UK milliner that doesn't have Royal Ascot in their calendar months if not years in advance. It was so amazing to go back to Royal Ascot this year, after 3 absent year’s the races had their joy d vivre back. I was so proud to wear my wide-brimmed boater hat adorned with hand-dyed silk abaca lilies. All the pomp and circumstance was in full swing, sadly her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II was not able to make it, I wonder how it will be singing King next year. I only ever bet on the horses what I can afford to lose, this year I came away with a gain of £2.15 😊.

I was so honored that my lovely model Chloe, asked me to make her a bespoke fascinator to go with her selected outfit for the day, a polka dot jumpsuit. I am sure you will agree with me she looked fabulous.

Due to the success of my personal Royal Ascot hat, I made an addition to my florals collection in my ready-to-wear hats. Glory is available to purchase call me on Tel: 07792484794 or use my Contact Page to email me.

Logo Redesign

I was always delighted with the icon to represent by brand but felt the text just didn’t fit, now I have more fluid script I feel my brand as a London Milliner is correctly represented.

Best Dressed Winner

I was so delighted to hear from one of my customers Asia E. Jones they had purchased one of my ready-to-wear hats from my Little bit of Sparkle Collection earlier in the year and were waiting for a suitable occasion to wear it. One evening in late June, I received a call from them, I could see her beaming even though she was on the telephone. Asia had attended a ladies tea party at Trinity Chapel and won best dressed! How amazing, I was so delighted for her, and I love to see all the fabulous ladies at the Chapel.

My Fair Lady

My love for hats could have begun with this film as a child a Christmas time, I can remember being mesmerised by this film and chuckling away to myself when Elisa was at the races and shouted “mover your blooming legs”.

It was truly a magical experience for me as a London Milliner to see this on the London stage with a fellow milliner Susan Widlake from  Mill House Millinery, a theatre performance never to be forgotten, Hats, Theatre & Great company need I say more.

Our & About

The later part of the year has seen me attend a few sales events, I love to meet new people and chat hats all day, and of course, I get to wear and show off my products. Leona worn at Mill Hill Souk is now sold.

Isla as seen at CAWC International Bazaar is available to purchase for full detail see my portfolio page Eclectica Collection. I have recently heard from the organisation that an outstanding amount of £26,826 has been raised for MND, Breathing Support Program for Buckinghamshire. if you live in the Gerrards Cross area and you are looking for a friendship group, I would highly recommend joining the CAWC International group, they have a fantastic calendar of events including Tennis, Golf, Crafts, Hiking, and days out. Well done to everyone involved.

My last vendor event was at Pinner Synaguoge at their Chanukah Craft Fair, it was a great success, it was the first they have held this event, I do hope this becomes a yearly one. I am waiting to hear on the funds raised at the event.

As I enter the festive season, I am looking forward to taking a well-earned break and spend some time with my family. Though in my head I am working on my next collection. Happy Hat Wearing, wishing you a wonderful festive season.

Best Regards
